Marshall:Dot by Dot
I had wanted to experiment with stippling for a long time. While making music with some friends in a studio, I photographed a Marshall amp and later realised it was the perfect subject for it.
The process became almost meditative. I would spend hours working on a tiny area, seeing nothing but individual dots, then step back and suddenly watch them become texture, light and form. That transformation was probably the part I enjoyed most.
The drawing took around a hundred hours, more pens than I care to remember and around 200,000 dots. Somehow, no tendinitis.
